No. It is the modeled salary that preserves the same monthly room under the inputs you entered. It can be a useful negotiation reference, but role value, career growth, benefits, risk, family needs, and personal preference are outside the equation.
What the relocation result means—and what it does not.
Answers about break-even salary, tax estimates, rent benchmarks, privacy, data freshness, paid reports, and responsible use of TOOOLBOX MOVE.
Is the break-even salary the amount I should demand?
Why is my payroll estimate different?
Payroll can include local taxes, benefit deductions, retirement contributions, credits, bonuses, stock compensation, and withholding choices that the directional model does not reproduce. Compare the tool with an employer pay estimate or a qualified tax calculation before relying on the exact amount.
Does median rent show what apartments cost today?
No. Census median gross rent is a historical metro-wide survey estimate. It is useful as context, but a current listing, lease quote, neighborhood, household size, and commute requirement are more relevant to a specific move.
Does the calculator include moving and setup costs?
Not automatically. Deposits, movers, travel, temporary housing, utility setup, vehicle registration, furnishing, and lease-overlap costs are often one-time expenses. Add them to a separate move budget or convert them to a clearly labeled recovery period.
Why are city and comparison pages not in the sitemap?
The underlying tables are automated and share a common structure. They are temporarily excluded from search while distinct editorial interpretation is added. The calculator and hand-reviewed explanation pages remain the public review set.
Is this financial or tax advice?
No. TOOOLBOX MOVE provides informational scenarios. It does not provide financial, tax, legal, investment, immigration, housing, or employment advice and cannot verify an employer, lease, neighborhood, or benefit plan.
How do I report a data or calculation problem?
Use the contact page. Include the URL, both cities, the inputs you entered, the displayed output, and the value you expected. Do not send passwords, government identifiers, tax returns, bank details, or employer-confidential documents.
Send the smallest reproducible scenario.
